Demystifying the Myths: What Every Parent Should Know About Special Education
How are children determined to be eligible for services? What is the parent's role in the referral/evaluation process? What are the benefits of early intervention and inclusive settings?
Mommy and Me Yoga
Hands-on class of yoga techniques to calm and energize your preschooler; including a discussion of the benefits of yoga for young children.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes (sweats and sneakers)
What to bring: a towel, water and your preschooler!
Are Children Really Learning Through Play?
- Hands-on activities that demonstrate learning
- Play-based learning and academic standards
Aging Out of CPSE- The Transition from Preschool to Kindergarten
This workshop is designed to help prepare parents for the transition from preschool special education to school-age special education. During this workshop, facilitators describe the transition process, highlighting the different classroom settings and classifications. Common questions and concerns such as "labels" and related services are also addressed.
ABCs of Behavior
Social-emotional developmental stages for children ages 3-6 are discussed. Common behavioral concerns and positive behavioral support strategies are recommended to assist parents with addressing these issues.
Get Out and Go! Outdoor Play
This discussion group focuses on the importance of gross motor development. Parents are presented with a variety of outdoor activities to promote physical development and fitness.
