Preschool Evaluations / Admissions
Briseida Rodriguez, Evaluations Coordinator
brodriguez@cookecenter.org
Cooke's caring, experienced and licensed Preschool professionals perform all of the evaluations required to determine eligibility for participation in one of our preschool programs. Conducted in the child's home or preschool, evaluations include a social history; classroom observation; and educational, psychological, and speech and language assessments. Occupational and physical therapy assessments can also be conducted, if needed.
In addition to conducting the evaluation, our staff accompanies parents to the Department of Education Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) where an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will be developed for a child who requires services, and an appropriate program will be determined.
Evaluations and services are funded by the NYC Department of Education and provided at no cost to eligible families.
Please call (212) 280-4473 or email brodriguez@cookecenter.org for more information about Preschool evaluations.
For those who have completed the evaluations process, please contact us to discuss the possibility of receiving IEP services through our Preschool.
