Cooke's caring, experienced and licensed professionals perform all of the evaluations required to determine eligibility for participation in one of our preschool programs. Conducted in the child's home or preschool, evaluations include a social history; classroom observation; and educational, psychological, speech and language, occupational, and, if necessary, physical therapy assessments.

In addition to conducting the evaluation, Cooke staff accompanies parents to the Department of Education Committee on Preschool Special Education where an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will be developed for a child who requires services, and an appropriate program will be determined.

Evaluations and services are funded by the NYC Department of Education and provided at no cost to eligible families.
