As our 12th graders begin to think about and prepare for life after CCA, it's important to investigate math skills in the workplace.
As part of this investigation, students have been interviewing different people in their community about the jobs they have and the math skills related to their work. They developed their own questions and practiced interviewing techniques to prepare for this process.
We decided some of the most important people in our community are our families. This spring, a few parents have joined our class to be interviewed by their sons, daughters, and classmates. So far we've had an attorney, a hair stylist, and the president of an organization working for people with disabilities, and more to come.
After our interviews we found there is A LOT of math in every kind of job!
