On May 11th Lisanne Norman, Cooke’s Director of Technology, and Beth Carr, Cooke’s Literacy Specialist, conducted a workshop titled Infusing Technology into the Reading and Writing Curriculum: Making Learning Stick for All Learners. NYSAIS (New York State Association of Independent Schools) hosted this sold-out event, attended by teachers from numerous New York City private schools.
This workshop addressed how technology can provide teachers with opportunities to increase student engagement, support instruction for struggling students, and provide enrichment for high performing students. Participants left the workshop with ideas that can be implemented in their classroom immediately following the workshop, including strategies for differentiating instruction and a technology toolbox.
Special thanks to Cooke Center Academy Head of School Mary Munsch for providing the space to have this workshop and Institute Director Aliza Kushner for organizing the event!
