Cooke Center Lower and Middle School students spent a recent sunny June day visiting their future Grammar School site on the Lower East Side, set to open this September.
With airy classrooms and a spacious schoolyard, the Stanton Street building will house Cooke Center School students from Kindergarten through Grade 8. The visit helped provide students with a sense of their new space before the rush of a new school year begins in the fall. A picnic lunch and afternoon activity of creating personalized decorations marked the inauguration of the large ground floor cafeteria.
A special thank you goes to il laboratorio del gelato (188 Ludlow Street) for generously providing a gift of delicious gelatos and sorbets to all the students. Their refreshing and tasty treats truly made the day memorable and helped welcome the students to their new space.
