Syndication feeds, such as RSS and iCal, will allow you to view Cooke Center calendar events in places other than the Cooke website - through a calendar software program (like iCal or Outlook), an email program (like Apple Mail or Outlook), or a web browser (such as Firefox or Internet Explorer).
There are two kinds of feeds available through the Cooke Center site - iCal feeds and RSS feeds.
iCal feeds are live calendar syndication feeds that you can subscribe to from your calendar program and will update whenever the Cooke calendar changes, as long as you are connected to the Internet. iCal feeds are compatible with programs such as Outlook 2007, Windows Calendar, and Apple iCal.
Simply click the iCal icon in the right-hand banner of a calendar page. You will then get a dialogue box through which you can select the calendar to which you would like to subscribe.
If you'd like to add the feed to an iPhone or iPad, select the green iCal button next to the desired calendar and select "get standard iCal URL" from the submenu. Email yourself the iCal link. Open the email from your iPhone and iPad email software and click the iCal link; you should be prompted to add it to your calendar subscriptions on the device. (The defulat name for each calendar will be "Cooke Center." To rename -e.g., "Cooke: CCA" or "Cooke-wide events"- or delete the feed, go into your device's calendar settings to select the calendar feed and edit or remove it.)

Subscribe to a calendar RSS feed to receive updates by email or via a Web page about events posted to the calendars of your choice. For more information about RSS, refer to the Wikipedia entry or the help section of your browser, email, or calendar program.
Note: A calendar feed will notify you of new events and modified events on the calendar. To find out about how to be reminded of a specific calendar event by email or text message, see Alerts.
