Cooke Center School is a private special education school serving New York City students, ages 5 through 21, with mild to moderate cognitive or developmental disabilities that severely impact their acquisition of academic, social and daily living skills. Our school is also very effective for students with severe language-based learning disabilities that significantly impact their development of academic and social skills.

We encourage all prospective families to learn more about our schools by attending a school tour, where they can meet our staff and see first-hand how Cooke students learn in the classroom. Open houses take place through the fall, winter and early spring.
Cooke is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization. We are committed to maintaining a student body that reflects New York's economic and cultural diversity.
The Cooke Center for Learning & Development admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of any policies or programs, including its educational policies, admissions policies and athletic and other school administered programs.
